Dhaka: Following the Prime Minister's directive, the government has directed the mobile courts to be stricter to make it compulsory for everyone to wear a mask to protect themselves from the second wave of corona.

Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam made the remarks after a virtual cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday (November 23rd).

The Cabinet Secretary said that the issue of masks was coming up very strongly again in the unscheduled talks. Several thousand people were fined yesterday. We said to see one more week, motivate people more. Then go to a little stronger punishment.

Asked what the strong punishment would be, the cabinet secretary said the fine could be increased. Maybe he is fining one thousand rupees, five hundred rupees, he made it five thousand rupees. That's how we said to go a little stronger way. Those who run mobile courts will also carry masks so that people can be paid with fines.

‘The religious secretary was at the divisional commissioner’s meeting yesterday, they have been told. The education secretary has also been told to campaign more massively in their respective fields. ’

The cabinet secretary said mobile courts were set up at 36 places in Dhaka city yesterday, adding that different fines were being levied at different places, ranging from Tk 500 to Tk 1,000.

Regarding the directives of the Prime Minister, the Cabinet Secretary said that in any way you promote people more and more, force people to use masks in any way. Medications will not work if you do not use a mask.

Anwarul Islam said that the health minister had informed the cabinet that the Dhaka division was not spreading as much as it was spreading outside. Because we are looking at the condition of the hospital. The number of patients in the hospital has increased. In Dhaka city where there were 300 patients 15 days ago, yesterday it has become maybe 600.
