Badal Roy died of cancer at 5:35 pm on Sunday at a hospital in Dhanmondi. Badal Roy's body was brought to his favorite club Mohammedan around 11am. Badal Roy's frozen body was there for about a quarter of an hour. Hundreds of people on the football field, hundreds of Mohammedan supporters and fans paid their last respects to Badal Roy at the Mohammedan Club.

His wife Madhuri Roy and son Varna Roy were sitting next to Badal Roy's body and crying. Badal Roy's wife Madhuri Roy could not be reached for comment.
